This week Mr Metcalf, school principal, launched the new school emblem at the annual presentation day.
Starting 2 months prior to launch, many international graphic designers submitted their proposals with 3 finalists selected. Community and students then voted and gave feedback. The winning design was then presented to the community.
Since the launch, all feedback has been positive and encouraging. The school will now engage in a slow introduction of the symbol over the next few months.
Below in an excerpt from Mr Metcalf's launch speech.
"This new symbol that will represent us here at Teralba Public School, we recognise the old emblem and acknowledge what it has meant to many past families and students of Teralba. The new emblem symbolises the waters of the beautiful Lake Macquarie or Awabakal. We recognise the various activities that surround us here, in particular Sailing. This symbol will also tie us to our history. This new symbol shows everyone what we offer at Teralba Public School- Opportunity, Achievement, Success in a caring Environment. Without Further ado I present the new Teralba Public School Emblem."
