About our school

It is our belief that children learn best when they feel secure and comfortable. We place great importance on building positive relationships with our students and developing in them the self confidence to celebrate their strengths and work towards the achievement of their individual learning goals.

The small school setting is an ideal context to get to know children as individuals and build this rapport. Our size allows us to readily see the academic, physical and social growth of each student and work alongside them to ensure that each child is given the opportunity to develop the specific skills they need.

We value and respect responsibility for all. We actively encourage children to recognise the importance of and take control of their own learning. We strive to encourage an atmosphere of empathy and support among peers, recognising individual difference, supporting each other and celebrating the various achievements we can make.

We see all members of the school community as working toward a common goal - success, health and happiness for each of our kids.

Teralba Public School offers a welcoming, friendly community environment that values opportunities for parent participation. Our students prosper in a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment that develops respect, understanding and responsibility. We are a family oriented school that listens and understands the needs of our greater community.

Teralba Public School provides diverse academic programs, designed to challenge and inspire our students. We have a strong emphasis on technology based learning, with an "up to the minute" immersion of technology in all classrooms, including interactive whiteboards and ipads in all rooms.

We have a strong tradition of sports, public speaking and debating, with some of the best results for improvement in the Westlakes area.

Our experienced and highly motivated staff work with dedicated and enthusiastic support staff to provide all students with small group and individualised learning opportunities specific to each child's needs. Our small class sizes provide extra support to students who may need assistance in developing their literacy and numeracy skills.
